Geometry
Angles, area, triangles and circles.
- Using the Pythagorean theorema² + b² = c², where c is always the side opposite the right angle.
- Area of a triangleArea = ½ × base × perpendicular height.
- Area vs circumference of a circleArea is πr²; circumference is 2πr.
- Angles in a triangle add to 180°The three interior angles of any triangle sum to 180°.
- Angles on parallel linesAlternate and corresponding angles are equal; co-interior angles add to 180°.
- The exterior angle of a triangleAn exterior angle equals the sum of the two opposite interior angles.
- Choosing sine, cosine or tangent (SOH CAH TOA)Label the sides from the angle, then pick the ratio that uses the two you have.
- Volume of a cylinderVolume = area of the circle base × height = πr²h.
- Finding arc lengthArc length is the angle's fraction of 360° times the circumference.
