What is LemonSugar Ai and how does it save me money?
LemonSugar Ai is a smart LLM router. Instead of subscribing to ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini separately, you send prompts to LemonSugar Ai and we automatically route each one to the cheapest model that can handle it — across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-source alternatives. Our users save 40–70% on average compared to using frontier models for everything.
How does the routing actually work?
LemonSugar Ai analyzes your prompt to estimate complexity, then picks the most cost-effective model from our pool that can reliably answer it. Simple questions go to fast, cheap models. Complex reasoning tasks go to stronger (but still optimized) models. You can override this per task type in your Settings.
Is my data private?
Yes. We don't train on your conversations. Messages are routed through OpenRouter (our infrastructure provider) which also does not train on API traffic. You can also enable 'Privacy mode' in Settings to exclude OpenAI entirely, or use open-source only if you prefer.
Why do I need credits?
Credits are prepaid tokens that let you use LemonSugar Ai without managing separate API keys for every provider. One credit balance works across all models. We buy in bulk and pass the savings to you. If you prefer, you can add your own API keys in Settings and LemonSugar Ai will route directly to providers, skipping our credit system entirely.
What happens when I run out of credits?
On Lo-Fi (free), wait for the daily refill or upgrade to Thrifty for unlimited messages and premium models — ideal once you're juggling more than one class. On Thrifty, add a credit pack from Pricing if you ever burn through your monthly allowance. You can also set a monthly budget cap in Settings so LemonSugar Ai pauses paid routing at your limit.
Can I use my own API keys?
Absolutely. Go to Settings → API keys and add keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or OpenRouter. LemonSugar Ai will route directly to those providers using your keys, bypassing our credit system and saving you the OpenRouter markup fee. This is ideal for power users spending $100+/month.
What models are supported?
LemonSugar Ai supports a curated catalog of frontier and open-source models across OpenAI (GPT-4o, GPT-5), Anthropic (Claude Haiku, Sonnet, Opus), Google (Gemini Flash, Pro), xAI (Grok), and leading open-source models (Llama, Qwen, DeepSeek, Mistral). See the full live list on our Models page.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Plan & credits and tap 'Cancel plan.' Your premium access continues until the end of your current billing period. You can resubscribe anytime.
Does LemonSugar Ai follow Responsible Ai principles?
Yes. LemonSugar Ai is built around the core principles of Responsible Ai: transparency (every reply is labelled with the model and cost), user agency (presets, per-task overrides, training opt-out, budget caps), privacy (RLS-scoped storage, metadata-only logs, no training on your data), safety (rate limits, classifier escalates low-confidence prompts to safer models, in-app Report button reviewed weekly), fairness (routing decisions never depend on who you are), and accountability (auditable routing logs excluding your prompt content).
